The founding team drew inspiration from frustration with traditional audio-tour applications. Stemler conceived the concept while visiting the British Museum in London and using the institution’s official self-guided tour app. He found that matching wall-mounted numbers to phone-based lists forced him to remain “heads-down” rather than absorb his physical surroundings while learning. That airport call to Hansan crystallized the core question behind Wrinkles: “If the phone in my pocket knows exactly where I am, shouldn’t the places in front of me be able speak?”
